Welcome

Welcome to the new website for Studies in the Linguistic Sciences: Illinois Working Papers. Studies in the Linguistic Sciences is the online, open-access working papers of the Linguistics Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. SLS began publication in print form in 1971.

ILLS 4 Proceedings Now Available

The proceedings of the third meeting of the Illinois Language and Linguistics society are now available under the current volume tab above! Studies in the Linguistic Sciences is glad to be the continuing publication outlet for the proceedings of this dynamic student-run conference at Illinois.

Studies in the Linguistic Sciences turns 40!

To the students and faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign: help make this our best year yet by submitting your linguistics-related article or book review to SLS for the 2011 volume!

The 2010 volume is now closed for new submissions. The 2009 and 2010 volumes, which include the proceedings of ILLS 1: LOL, is available through the 'archives' tab above. The 2011 volume, which includes the proceedings of ILLS 2, is now open for general submissions and book reviews.

I join the editorial board, the Linguistics Department faculty, and the Linguistics Student Organization in inviting submissions for articles or book reviews for the 2011 volume. Please note that at the current time, we are only accepting submissions from faculty and students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Please see the 'submissions' tab, above, for details on how to submit your article.

Our format affords free and permanent online access to your work and the ability to include electronic content in any format as an appendix to your article. Please consult the stylesheet and example document before submitting.
